Caught between the devil

   and the deep-blue sea

 how did I come to be

   so far  from shore?

 

I’m caught between the devil

   and the deep-blue sea

 my mind’s attacking me

   where is the shore?

 

How can I find my way

   without the light of day

      I am drowning 

        with every breath I take

 

My eyes are blind

   my ears can’t hear

      the tide of fear is rising in me

        and I’m drowning,

       with every breath I take

 

Caught between illusion

   and the deep-blue sea

 I cannot find my way—in the dark

 

I’m caught between the maya

   and my own delusion

 my ears can’t hear, my eyes can’t see—

       it’s very dark

 

Where is Reality?

  is there any hope for me?

    will someone, somewhere, heed my call?

 

If Love exists—

   let it find me

    and carry me ashore

 before my Light goes out forevermore

I just went for a swim

  in the calm, blue ocean

    when suddenly

       up came a storm

 

And next I knew

  there I was—

    drowning in emotion

      my mind—a turbulent storm

 

Where is Reality?

  is there any hope for me?

  will someone, somewhere, heed my call?

 

If Love exists

   let it find me

      and carry me ashore

  else this Light will be extinguished

  and this Life will be no more
